I know that when I die, I will spend eternity in Heaven.
How do I know? Because God told me.
How did He tell me? Through His Word, the Bible.

The Bible say's;

These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God. 1 John 5:13

The Bible clearly states that, "you may know that you have eternal life".

Let me ask you another question. What if you were to die today and stand before God and He were to said to you, "Why should I let you into my Heaven?", what would you say?

If you ask a lot people this question, you would probably get a lot of answers. But... the Bible has only ONE.

But let see what the Bible says about man.
 

MAN

Man is a sinner.

...for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, Romans 3:23

Man cannot save himself.

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. Ephesians 2:8

So... we find out that the Bible says we are all sinners. Not just some of us, but all of us. Also... the Bible tells us that we cannot save ourselves. Let me give you an example; Lets say that you were in the middle of a lake drowning and you could not swim. You see someone that is capable of saving you standing on the shore. Would you call out for help or would you reach up and grab your hair and try to save yourself? I think you get the point! Now let’s look at what the Bible says about, God.
 

GOD

God is love.

He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. 1 John 4:8

But... God is also just.

...keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, by no means clearing the guilty... Exodus 34:7

He is the Rock, His work is perfect; For all His ways are justice, A God of truth and without injustice; Righteous and upright is He. Deuteronomy 32:4

God is a merciful loving God and does not want to punish us. But He is also just and must punish sin. As you see... we have a problem. God loves us and does not want punish us but... he must punish our sin. Hopeless? NO! God solves this problem through the person of Jesus Christ! Who is this Person, Jesus?
 

CHRIST

Jesus and God are one!

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God... and the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:1, 14

Christ died for you!

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

Does this mean we are all going to Heaven? No! Christ died on the cross to purchase a place for us in Heaven. This is a " Free Gift" and He wants to give us this Gift. But... we must accept this "Free Gift" before we can enter into Heaven. How do we accept this Gift? We accept it by Faith. What is Faith?
 

FAITH

Faith... First, let me explain what it is not. Faith is not believing in Martin Luther King Jr., Abraham Lincoln or many other great men. Sure you believe they have existed and done great things but you are not trusting that they can do anything for you now.

You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe--and tremble! James 2:19

The Bible says that even the Devil believes is God, and surely he is not going to Heaven.

Faith... What it is. Faith is totally trusting and relying on Christ to save you. Let me give you another example; Lets say you see a chair in front of you. It looks sturdy; you even believe that it will support you. But why is it not supporting you? Because you are not sitting in it. This is called "mere intellectual belief". You believe the chair will hold you up, but you never sit in it. This is not the "belief" that Bible is talking about. Now let say that you sat in that chair. You have just taken "mere intellectual belief" to trusting and fully relying on that chair to hold you up. This is the "Belief" that the Bible is talking about.

...that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9

So they said, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household." Acts 16:31

Christ wants to save you but you must accept Him. You ask, "how do I accept this gift of Heaven". Just ask... It's that simple. How? Though prayer.
 

PRAYER

Christ died on the cross for you and me. By shedding His blood on the cross, He purchased a place in Heaven and offers it to you as a free gift. All you need to do is accept His free gift (eternal life in Heaven). I know it sounds to easy, but Jesus Christ has done the hard part. He was beaten, spat on and hung on a cross to die a slow and very painful death. Why did he do it? Because He loves us so much. He wants us to live in Heaven with Him for eternity. But... it is up to you to decide if you want this Gift. If you would like to accept His Gift of eternal life, pray to Him right now and ask Him into your heart. Tell Him that you are a sinner and that you believe that He died on the cross for your sins. Tell Him you want the free gift of Heaven, (eternal life). Then you must repent. Do not be intimidated by this word, "repent". All it means is to change. Change from following your own desires to what Jesus Christ wants for you. Pray Now! For God does not promise you tomorrow!

If this is what you prayed and you believe in your heart that Christ died for you and you are ready to follow Christ, then you are saved. You have a place, right now, reserved for you in Heaven.
